Macuda New England

Mankon Cultural and Development Association of New England (MACUDA New England) was formed in 2004. We realized we needed to be one when his Royal Highness Fon Angwafo 111 visited Boston. Lots of Mankonians showed up to pay their respects to the Fon. When he was about to leave, he told us that being together is a very good thing not only when there is an occasion like the one we were at but all the time. We took his advise to heart and decided to hold our first ever meeting at the residence of Pa Chenjo Clement. The turn out was great and we realized there was a need for a MACUDA in New England. The rest is history.

We meet every third or fourth saturday of the month at the house of members. We discuss issues of interest concerning Mankon and what we can do to help ourselves as well as our motherland. Music is one of the things that keep us going and we don’t leave the meeting without dancing mbagalum or bottle dance. The first ever executive of MACUDA New England were

MACUDA New England is still struggling like any other newly formed group. Our membership is open not only to Mankonians but to all friends and affiliates of Mankonians. This has been a great success to this group and we are just loving it. Members visit one another in times of joy e.g births, graduation, birthday celebration etc as well as sorrows such as death, family tragedy etc. Herewith the new executives for MACUDA New England. Elections took place in December of 2008.
